Rover CityRover was produced in 2003-2005. Cars rolled off the production line at Longbridge factory, Great Britain. This model was also manufactured by Tata Motors Limited in Poona, India.

Production started in autumn 2003. Rover CityRover was built on the platform of Tata Indica, designed in India, and was manufactured in five-door hatchback body.

Car is rather compact. Body length is 3 703 mm, width – 1 924 mm, height – 1 500 mm. Due to its maneuvering ability car is good for city driving – it explains a model name.

Other advantages were stylish and elegant design of interior and exterior typical of this model line. Cars produced for British market differed from cars manufactured by Tata Motors in India. British cars got modified bumpers, 14-inch wheel rims and suspension with different adjustments. Another difference is in legend plate Rover on radiator grille.

During a car building, much attention was paid to safety level. High position of driver and large glass area provide a good observability. Due to high position of taillights, car is noticeable for other road users. Additional safety beams are mounted in doors. Rear doors are equipped with children locks which prevent opening car from inside. Driver airbag is included into basic configuration. Airbag for front passenger was offered as additional option. All seats are equipped with adjustable up/down head restraints and seatbelts with pretensioner. Anti-skid braking system (ABS) is also included into extended configuration.

As Rover sales of CityRover didn’t satisfy expectations, model underwent restyling. As a result, list of basic options was enlarged and prices lowered. 2005 was the last year of this rare cars sales.
