1. Use the can according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Take into account that many containers can be used for fuel transportation only for a limited period of time.
2. From time to time you should examine petrol cans for cracks, abrasions and other defects.
3. Make sure that the container with a highly flammable liquid is always tightly closed.
4. If you intend to store fuel for a long time, don’t fill more than 95% of the can. Also, you shouldn’t leave the container half-empty because oxidation processes in it can affect fuel properties.
5. Containers should be stored in specially dedicated places, in a garage for example. It is important that temperature in the room is not too high. An empty tank should be stored with a half-tightened cap, so that fuel vapours couldn’t accumulate inside.
