Lancia Phedra

Lancia Phedra is a large-size minivan produced by the Lancia company from September, 2002 to November, 2010. Assembling was organized in France, at Sevel Nord plant (Société Européenne de Véhicules Légers) in cooperation with PSA Peugeot Citroën and Fiat Group.

Lancia Phedra I generation

In 1994 Fiat Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën concerns united for production of commercial vehicles. Within cooperation, the Eurovan project of releasing of minivans under four various brands — Citroën, Peugeot, Fiat and Lancia - was realized. The first generation of these cars was rather successful; however they lacked individuality and looked almost identical. Therefore in 2002 the French-Italian cooperation presented four new minivans, one of which was Lancia Phedra.

Lancia Phedra replaced the Lancia Zeta model. Lancia Phedra cars were more elegant than predecessors, had more modern equipment, and, above all, were more spacious which allowed passengers to move around the eight-seater passenger compartment during driving with comfort. In comparison with the first Eurovan cars, new minivans had a unique nose. Lancia Phedra had larger square headlights and a large air intake divided into three sections. To make the access to the passenger compartment more comfortable, rear side doors were sliding and were opened by remote control.

There were about 60 various storage solutions for small objects in the passenger compartment of Lancia Phedra. All instruments were located in the center of the front panel. Serial equipment of cars included the Connect Nav+ infotainment system. Also in the basic package of Lancia Phedra there were six airbags, the ABS, ESP and ASR systems.

Lancia Phedra I generation restyling

In January, 2008, restyling of the model took place. External changes affected the radiator grille and the air inlet in the bumper. The design of Lancia logo plate was updated. The colour palette of body painting was extended. New 16-inch discs were included in the basic package. For inner trimming more expensive materials, such as new Starlite alcantara and leather, were used, the system of satellite navigation was also updated.

At the end of 2010 production of Lancia Phedra was terminated. In total, more than 45 thousand copies were released.
