• The number 10 indicates the low-temperature properties of this lubricant. When it is used, the engine can be started in severe cold conditions: down to −25 °C. The high-temperature characteristics correspond to the 40 grade: the kinematic viscosity of the lubricant varies within the 21.9–26.1 mm2/s range. The dynamic viscosity is 3.7 mPa·s.
• The products of this viscosity are stable to oxidation and retain their working properties even when becoming very hot.
• Typically these oils have a synthetic base.
