Characteristics of SAE 0W-40 engine oil
- SAE 0W-40 engine oil ensures efficient protection of the power unit both at low and high temperatures.
- The 0W grade means that this product retains the fluidity sufficient for engine start and oil pump operation even at −35°C. While its high-temperature properties indicated by the number 40 guarantee the strength of the oil film even under extreme loads: its HTHS is one of the highest and is equal to 3.7 mPa·s.
- SAE 0W-40 engine oil is suitable for engines operating on different kinds of fuel, including turbocharged ones.
- As a rule, it has a synthetic base.
- It may feature extended replacement intervals.
- Typically, the product comes in plastic or (less often) metal containers of 1-, 2-, 4-, and 5-litre capacity.
