Production of the sport car Ferrari 550 Barchetta was carried out from 2000 to 2002 at the plant in Maranello, Italy. In total 452 cars, including four prototypes, were released. All cars were noted by the special plate.

In 2009 the Zagato company released the Zagato Ferrari 550 Barchetta GTZ car representing deep modernization of original Ferrari 550 Barchetta in honour of completion of long-term cooperation with the Ferrari company . In total, six cars were released.

The design of the body was executed in style of the middle of the 20th century; the car differed in rounded shapes and the massive oval radiator grille. The inner trim was improved significantly.
