Motul engine oils are among the oldest products on the lubricants market. They owe their existence to the American company Swan&Finch Co. founded in 1853. In 1957 the brand passed into the ownership of the French company Supra Penn which was later renamed to Motul S.A. Since that time, all engine oils of this brand have been produced in France. Today, the company has branches in more than 80 countries. The company makes active use of innovative technologies in its production processes and cares about the environment: as early as in 1992 it created the world’s first biodegradablelubricant for 4-stroke engines. Types of Motul engine oils

These are the most demanded lines of of the firm’s lubricants:

• 8100. It is represented by Eco-Clean, X-cess, Eco-nergy, and some other products. These are energy-saving lubricants with a synthetic base. They are characterized by low content of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur. They are compatible with particulate filters and catalytic converters. Due to their moderate viscosity they contribute to the engine performance and fuel economy. These oils protect engine parts perfectly even under significant loads. They are suitable for diesel and petrol power units with direct fuel injection.
• 6100. It includes Synergie, Synergie+, and Save-lite products. These are semi-synthetic lubricants, however synthetic components account for 60–80% of their volume. That is why these Motul engine oils ensure excellent protection of engine parts under any conditions. They promote fuel economy. At the same time, they are offered at a reasonable price.
• 4100. This category includes Turbolight, Power, and some other lubricants. These are semi-synthetic oils for high performance engines. The products are characterized by high stability to oxidation. They have perfect anti-wear and anti-corrosion properties. In addition, these oils are resistant to foaming. They ensure engine protection in different operating modes.
• Hybrid. It is a line of synthetic engine oils for use in hybrid car engines. They have the lowest high-temperature viscosity. These lubricants efficiently protect the power unit during cold start. They contribute to fuel economy.
• Classic Oil. These are mineral oils for diesel and petrol engines of old cars. They don’t have a negative effect on sealing materials, don’t leak through cracks and gaps due to the high viscosity, create a strong protective film on the surface of parts, and are characterized by low evaporation.
