Nissan SunnyCompact Nissan Sunny cars were manufactured during the period of 1966-2006. Factories were built in Japan, the USA, Mexico, Australia and Philippines.
Nissan Sunny 1966–1998Company started to produce a rear drive Nissan Sunny B10 cars in coupe, 2- and 4-door sedan versions. 3-door station wagons were called Nissan Sunny VB10. Engine was mounted in a front part. Since 1967 company started Nissan Sunny Truck B20 production on the platform of a station wagon.
Production of the second-generation model – Nissan Sunny B110 – started in 1970. Car was available in coupe, 2- and 4-door sedan versions and 5-door station wagon. It was the most economical car on the North American market till 1973. Nissan Sunny Truck B120 and Nissan Sunny Truck B140 pickups were produced on the platform of a station wagon.
The third generation production started in 1973. In the context of world oil crisis, economical Nissan Sunny B210 cars were very popular. Cars were manufactured in versions of 2-door hatchback, 2- and 4-door sedan, 3- and 5-door station wagon, and van. Car got a new radiator grille and updated side mirrors in 1976. Car was called Nissan Sunny B211 after a restyling.
Company set up production of the fourth generation models, Nissan Sunny B310 in 1978. Cars were produced in 3-door coupe, 2- and 4-door sedan, 3- and 5-door wagon, 5-door van and 5-door fastback versions.
In 1980 car got a new radiator grill, updated optics and a modernized front body part design.
During 1981-1985 period company produced the fifth-generation models. New Nissan Sunny differed from previous models in a front wheel drive. Model came as 3-door hatchback, 2- and 4-door sedan, 3-door coupe, 3- and 5-door wagon, and van.
The sixth-generation production – Nissan Sunny B12 – started in 1985. Car was developed on Nissan B new platform. Next versions were available: 3-door coupe, 3-door hatchback, 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon. Some versions had a full-drive.
Nissan B13 was presented by company in 1993. Only 2- and 4-door sedans were available. The seventh-generation models now are produced in Mexico. Cars are still used as taxi cabs in Malaysia.
The eighth-generation model production started in 1993. Nissan Sunny B14 was produced only in the 4-door sedan version. Car had an independent front and a rear multi-link suspension type.
Nissan Sunny B15Company presented the ninth generation model, NissanSunny B15 in 1998. This car was created on a new Nissan MS platform. Model production continued up to 2006.
Nissan Sunny B17Presentation of Nissan Sunny B17 took place at the Shanghai Motor Show in 2010. Car was built on a new platform – Nissan V. Cars came to Asian countries markets.
