Nissan Pickup SUVs production started in 1946 and still continues. Manufacturing was established in Japan, the USA, Canada, Brazil, SAR, Malaysia, Taiwan, Mexico, China, Sudan, Egypt and Philippines.

Company started Nissan Pickup 1121 production in 1946. This compact and practical car quickly gained a popularity due to its modesty and affordable price.

The second generation model, Nissan Pickup 120, entered the market in 1955. Nissan Pickup 220 was produced two years later. The second and the third generation models differed by bigger dimensions and a modern design.

Nissan Pickup 320 production started in 1961. Car got bigger again, but distinctive design elements remained unchanged.

Nissan Pickup 520 models were being produced in 1965-1972. Car was larger than previous one and got double round headlights. Stylish and contemporary design wasn’t specific for an utility vehicle.

Nissan Pickup 620 entered the market in 1972. Stern and practical, this car had a stylish interior design. Nissan Pickup 720 production started in 1979. This model production lasted till 1986. Car got many chromed exterior elements and rectangle headlights instead of round ones.

Production of Nissan Pickup D21 in Crew Cab and King Cab versions started in 1985. Manufacturer continued tradition of dimensions increasing. Black or body-colored plastic bumpers were available.

An air-conditioner, a sunroof and front power windows were optional only. Car was produced up to 1997.

Presentation of a new Nissan Pickup generation, D22, was performed in 1997. Car was designed under command of Nishino Sadaaki and Jerry Hirshberg. Next versions of pickup were available: Double Cab, Single Cab, and Crew Cab.

Car got large square headlights with a small radiator grille between them. Turn lights were mounted on a compact front bumper.

In February 2000 presentation of updated Nissan Pickup D22 took place at the Chicago Auto Show. New design was developed under direction of Diane Allen. Car got upgraded headlights, a new radiator grille, a renewed hood lid and a massive front bumper with round integrated fog lights.

Car model was also sold under the names of Datsun Pickup, Nissan Navara, Nissan Winner, Nissan Frontier and Nissan Frontier Bravado. Nissan Pickup D22 was known as Nissan NP300 in some countries. Car was sold as Nissan Pickup on markets of Europe, Africa, Asia and South America.
