Info on MG MAGNETTE model - the right selection of spare parts
MG MagnetteThe MG Magnette model was manufactured during 1953-1968. Over these years four generations of the car were released.
MG Magnette ZAThe first generation of MG Magnette ZA was presented at the London Motor Show in 1953. As the next year started, the car began to be sold in a sedan body. The development of the exterior was led by Gerald Palmer.
The car had an independent front spring suspension and a rear elliptic leaf spring dependent suspension. The front and rear wheels of the MG Magnette were equipped with drum brakes. About 18 thousand of the cars were released.
MG Magnette ZBThe company got the production of the second-generation cars - MG Magnette ZB - going in 1956. The sales of the car began in early 1957. The dynamic rates of the car were significantly improved.
The developers of the company increased the glass area, especially in the rear part of the car. Extra body colors were added, including combined ones. In total, more than 18,5 thousand of MG Magnette ZB cars were produced.
MG Magnette Mk.IIIThe third generation of MG Magnette started being produced in 1959. The model had a significant resemblance to other British Motor Corporation cars of that period. Massive sharpened “tailfins” appeared on the back of the body.
The car received a new radiator grille with a chrome frame and “bug-eye” style headlights. Overall 16,5 thousand of MG Magnette Mk.III rolled off the production.
MG Magnette Mk.IVThe production of the four-generation cars began in 1961. MG Magnette Mk.IV cars differed from their predecessors in stronger power units as well as increased dimensions.
The car’s suspension was equipped with stabilizer bars. The exterior design remained the same, comparing with the third generation of the model. The rear “tailfins” were more round.
The production of the MG Magnette Mk.IV continued till 1968. More than 14 thousand cars were released.
