Fiat 135This sporty car was released by the Italian company Fiat from 1966 to 1972. It was presented by two bodies — a coupe and a roadster. Production of this model was arranged in Rivalta and Martanello, Italy.
Fiat 135 I generationIn 1966 the Pininfarina roadster 135 was presented. Half a year later at the motor show in Turin the presentation of Fiat 135 coupe of the first generation took place. Its design was developed by Bertone studio. Unlike a roadster, the new coupe had the long wheel base (225,6 cm against 255 cm). In an interior of both cars wooden materials of finishing prevailed. Also it was possible for a roadster owners to have a trimming made of stainless steel . Among additional options the leather upholstery of the passenger compartment was available at all the cars.
Release of the first generation came to the end in 1969.
Fiat 135 I generation restylingIn 1969 restyling of Fiat 135 took place. The exterior of the updated car practically was not changed. The coupe got the black radiator grille, numerous opaque black inserts and changed shape of tail lights. The designers changed the dashboard also and added leather seats as a paid option. The chrome plated radiator grille with two horizontal strips became a distinctive feature of an exterior of a new roadster.
The main differences of the updated Fiat 135 cars concerned a technical component. Cylinders of new power units were manufactured of cast iron. At lower turns of the engine the torsion torque has increased. Braking performances of the car have been improved due to use of new friction plates, brake disks and supports.
