Info on DODGE STRATUS model - the right selection of spare parts
Dodge StratusDodge Stratus cars were manufactured by the Chrysler company in 1995-2006. During the production period two generations of the car were presented. Assembly lines was established in the US, Canada and Argentina.
Dodge Stratus I generationThe first generation of Dodge Stratus was produced during 1995-2000. The prototype of the stock model was presented in 1994 at Auto Shows both in Los Angeles and Detroit. The vehicle had an elegant and stylish design. An original bumper shape harmoniously matched the headlights. Flowing body lines and a wedged silhouette made the car’s exterior dynamic. The cabin was simple and austere: the dashboard consisted of four analog devices. Seats had several position adjustment options, including height.
Dodge Stratus cars were equipped with air conditioning, power windows, ABS, cruise control system, two airbags, power exterior mirrors and central locking device. The first generation models were released in a sedan body.
Dodge Stratus II generationThe second generation of the model debuted in 2000 at the Chicago Auto Show. The vehicles were presented in sedan and coupe bodies. The cars differed considerably in their construction: Dodge Stratus in sedan body was based on a JR platform while Dodge Stratus Coupe was built on a Mitsubishi Eclipse basis. But it did not prevent the manufacturers to sell these two technically different models under the same name.
The car’s design was slightly updated: exterior mirrors, bumpers, front and taillights received a different shape. Body lines became smoother. Moldings were dyed in the main body color. Sculptured wheel arches made the car look modern. The list of options was enlarged. A new steering wheel and an updated dashboard appeared in the cabin. Leather cabin trim was available for the expensive modifications.
Dodge Stratus II generation restylingIn 2002 and 2003 the manufacturers updated, respectively, the sedan and coupe designs. But it did not return the vehicle’s popularity and their production was stopped in 2006.
Dodge Stratus on different marketsRussian billionaire Oleg Deripaska bought the Dodge Stratus production license in 2006. Slightly updated vehicles were manufactured from 2007 to 2010 and were sold under the name of Volga Siber.
Dodge Stratus has analogue cars: Chrysler Cirrus, Chrysler Stratus, Plymouth Breeze and Chrysler Sebring.
