Info on CITROËN DS5 model - the right selection of spare parts
Citroën DS5Release of Citroën DS5 started in 2011. After restyling of 2015, the car began to be positioned as model of a separate brand — DS. These cars were assembled in Sochaux, France and Shenzhen, China. According to the Euro NCAP tests in 2011, the car had the highest five stars award. The car was released in a five-door hatchback body.
History of Citroën DS5 creationIn 2005 at the motor show in Frankfurt the Citroën C-SportLounge concept car was shown. The conceptual car was positioned as a family car. The design was developed under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Ploué. The exterior of the car was bright and sporty. The aggressive exterior of the nose was softened with the smoothly varying lines of the body. The special design of back doors (they opened in the direction opposite to the car course) and lack of the central rack provided comfortable boarding in the passenger compartment.
The official premiere of the stock model took place within a motor show in Shanghai in 2011. The exterior of Citroën DS5 was less extravagant. The roof was lowered in the tail and the rising window under line gave to the car similarity to the sporty coupe. The streamline shape of the front bumper, a big inclination of a windshield and system of deflectors provided excellent aerodynamics. The radiator grille, side mouldings, door handles and branch of exhaust system were covered with chrome. The panoramic roof consisting of three sections increased visibility.
In the dashboard the emphasis was placed on asymmetry. Deflectors of heating system had the different shape. It might appear at first sight that devices control keys were located chaotically. Cars were equipped with the display with function projecting necessary information to a windshield at the level of the driver's eyes. In a basic package Citroën DS5 cars had climate control, six airbags, an electric equipment package and the audio system. For an additional fee it was possible to get system of keyless access, the rear-view camera, the eMyWay navigation system and so forth.
In 2015 restyling of the model was carried out. Changes concerned design of the nose: there was a new radiator grille, the updated headlights and bumpers. There was the touch display which replaced at once twelve keys. The updated cars were on sale under the name of DS therefore 2015 can be considered as the end of Citroën DS5 production.
