For replacing the bearing, a puller is useful for removing and installing the hub bearings.
Do not re-use the bearing assembly of your FIAT PUNTO (188) car.
Replace both wheel hub bearings of one axle.
Attach the brake caliper to the suspension or the body by a wire on FIAT PUNTO (188) without disconnecting the brake hose to avoid the brake system leakage.
If the part connections are very dirty, clean them with a metal brush and treat with penetrant liquid.
Clean the hub and apply high temperature grease to the seating surface of the disc.
Clean the parts and treat the inner surface of the steering knuckle seat and the outer surface of the wheel hub with bearing grease on the FIAT PUNTO (188).
When pressing the bearing into the steering knuckle housing, force should be applied only to the outer ring of the bearing, otherwise it may be damaged.
The wheel bearing unit must not tilt on the axle pin.
