Installation of brake caliper repair kit on the FIAT PUNTO (188) vehicle is best done at a service station. To make the work easier, the unit should be removed from the vehicle and disassembled; and this requires special equipment and certain skills.

For pressing out pistons from the housing of the brake caliper, specialists use compressed air equipment that easily extracts the piston from its seat. It not only makes installation easier, but also protects the components of the caliper from destruction. Also apply another lubricant to guide pins and their dust boots. As a rule, the repair kit contains two bags of lubricants intended for servicing various components of the caliper.

Using a jack, unload the axle of the FIAT PUNTO (188) vehicle at the side of replacement. Spin the wheel, ask your assistant to press the brake pedal, and then repeat spinning. If replacement has been done properly, the wheel should rotate freely.

Check and if necessary top up brake fluid in the reservoir on the master brake cylinder.

Bleed the brake system of the FIAT PUNTO (188) vehicle, using the layout that can be found in the technical documentation to the vehicle. Never ignore this recommendation, as air in the brake system reduces efficiency of braking and may cause an accident.
