Info on SUZUKI GRAND VITARA model - the right selection of spare parts
Suzuki Grand VitaraSuzuki Grand Vitara has been in the production since 1998. The cars are assembled in Japan, Iran, Indonesia, Ecuador, and Spain. The first generation cars were also assembled in Canada.
Suzuki Grand Vitara generation IFirst generation Suzuki Grand Vitara was produced from 1998 until 2006. The car was available as a three-door and a five-door crossover, and as a three-door convertible.
The exterior design of Suzuki Grand Vitara had rounded shapes and smooth lines. Headlights had trapezoidal shape; side mirrors were painted in the color of the body. SUVs had rails on the roof.
The standard wheel base was 2,200 mm, while the extended wheel base of five-door crossovers was 2,479 mm.
The main advantages of the car were a spacious passenger compartment, and a large luggage compartment. The spare wheel was located on the rear door that opened sideways. The rear row seat backs folded to form beds.
The basic configuration included electric windows, power steering, dual front airbags, seat belts with pretensioners, and central locking. Optionally, an immobilizer, an anti-lock brakes system (ABS), and an air conditioned were available.
Suzuki Grand Vitara generation IIIn 2005, second generation Suzuki Grand Vitara was shown. Three-door and five-door crossovers were produced at the assembly lines. Convertibles were discontinued. Individual components of the GM Theta platform were used in creating the updated model.
The body got distinct outline. Protruding wheel arches made the car's silhouette more dynamic. The massive C-pillar became the characteristic feature of the exterior. Unlike its predecessor, the car had modified front headlights and an updated radiator grill. The engineers equipped the car with independent suspension, improving therefore its steering response.
Suzuki Grand Vitara generation II restyledOn August 29, 2012, at the Moscow Motor Show, the European premiere of the updated second generation car was held. As a result of restyling, the model got a new radiator grill with transverse slats that extended towards the middle. An ingenious punching appeared on the hood. Depending on the configuration, the car is available with steel and alloy wheels. Increased 18-inch wheels are available as an option.
Suzuki Grand Vitara in the markets of various countriesIn North America, first generation Suzuki Grand Vitara was called Chevrolet Tracker, and sold by the General Motors Company. The cars had the same name in Latin America. Only in Mexico, the car was called Chevrolet Grand Vitara. The Chilean market, five-door SUVs were known as Suzuki Grand Nomade. In Japan, cars were sold as Mazda Proceed Levante.
Since 1998, five-door crossovers with elongated wheelbase were called Suzuki Grand Escudo in the Japanese market. Compared to Suzuki Grand Vitara SUVs, these cars were more powerful, and had larger dimensions. Suzuki Grand Escudo was exported to North America and Chile as Suzuki XL-7. In Australia and Europe, the car was called Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7.
Second generation cars in Taiwan were called Suzuki Grand Vitara JP, in Chile — Suzuki Grand Nomade, and in Ecuador — Suzuki Grand Vitara SZ. In separate markets, the car was presented as second and third generation Suzuki Vitara.
