Renault ModusRenault Modus is a minivan which production was carried out from 2004 to 2012. Two generations of this model were presented during this period. Assembling was carried out at Renault plant in Valladolid, Spain.
Renault Modus I generationThe Renault Modus concept was shown in 1994 at the auto show in Paris. In 2004 the stock car was presented in Madrid. Production of the first generation continued till 2007.
The Renault Modus is characterized by modern design, comfortable compartment, a capacious luggage compartment, and also good technical features.
The exterior of the Renault Modus model is remembered by original look of the car nose, thin windscreen pillars, mouldings of the same colour as the body had, and significant wheel arches. Smooth lines of the cowl, windscreen pillars, edges of the roof and fenders repeat in handles of doors, exterior mirrors and tail rounded lights. The big air inlet acts as distinctive feature of the front bumper.
The Renault Modus minivan has quite compact sizes: length of the body makes 3 792 mm, width — 1 695 mm. However because of height of the body of 1 589 mm passenger compartment is quite spacious. Together with wide doorways the high body provides ease of boarding.
One more advantage of the Renault Modus car is a good visibility which is reached at the expense of a windshield, big on the area, and high seating of the driver.
Ergonomics of the compartment and a variety of options are typical for the Renault Modus car. The driver seat regulated on height and well readable dashboard provide comfort to the driver.
In a basic set the back seat has a folding back. As an additional option the movable back seat with the folding place is offered. Such seat can be moved by 170 mm and had four different positions. Passenger compartment is a five-seater. The volume of baggage compartment can be enlarged from 198 to 1 283 liters.
Renault Modus II generationIn 2007 the second generation of the Renault Modus was released. The updated model was produced in two bodies — standard (length is 3 874 mm) and extended (length is 4 034 mm). The car in the extended body got the Renault Modus Grand name. The minimum volume of a luggage compartment of this car was increased to 410 liters.
The Renault Modus of the second generation differed from the predecessor in a slightly changed design. The car got the modernized front bumper. Headlights and air inlets got a new form. Changes concerned the radiator grille also. In general the Renault Modus design became more expressive.
