Peugeot 206Peugeot 206 production lasted from 1998 to 2013. During this time, two generations and one restyling were represented. The car assembly took place in the UK, Spain, France and Iran. Peugeot 206 was the best-selling model in France in 2001, 2004 and 2005.
Peugeot 206 I generationPeugeot 206 model debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1998. Production of the first generation of Peugeot 206 continued until 2003. Initially, three-door and five-door hatchbacks were produced. Since 2000 the production of Peugeot 206 CC coupe-cabriolet had begun. The car was similar to the Peugeot 20 Coeur concept car and had a great popularity in Europe.
The model had a spectacular design: the exterior and interior combined exquisite style and practicality. Due to roomy luggage compartment the car could be used to transport big cargo. Also many compartments for storing small items were provided in the cabin.
Peugeot 206 cars perfectly suited for urban driving: the car had high levels of maneuverability and the diameter of its rotation was only 9.8 meters.
Cars were equipped with front brake disc and rear brake drums, power steering and height-adjustable steering column.
Peugeot 206 I generation restylingIn 2002 there was the Peugeot 206 first generation restyling. The changes mainly affected the technical equipment: range of powertrains was expanded and new options became available. The same year, Peugeot 206 model was produced in station wagon.
In addition to the basic Filou configuration, enhanced Tendance configuration and Sport were also proposed. Standard equipment included anti-lock braking system (ABS), a tachometer and an oil sensor.
All cars had the insulated glass. Additional options included fog lights, electric windows, exterior mirrors with electric drive. The expanded configuration also included aluminum wheels, sports seats and a leather steering wheel. Sport configuration had a height-adjustable driver and front passenger seats and the climate control system. Extra functionality and comfort were provided by rain sensors, onboard computer and audio system with a remote control on the steering wheel.
World premiere of Peugeot 206 in sedan took place at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005.
Peugeot 206 II generationThe release of Peugeot 206 second generation continued from 2009 to 2013. The improved model was named Peugeot 206+.
