Info on OPEL VECTRA model - the right selection of spare parts
Opel Vectra
One of the best sold and recognizable cars of the Opel Company — the Opel Vectra model — was produced from 1988 to 2008. It was a middle class car. In two decades there were three generations of the model and three restylings. Thanks to ergonomics of the passenger compartment, durability of a body and rather low cost, Opel Vectra became the best-seller in Europe and outside it. In 1989 the car won the second place at the prestigious competition "European Car of Year". In Europe this model was assembled at the plants in Eisenach and Russelsheim (Germany), Luton (Great Britain), Antwerp (Belgium).
Model A
The first generation of the Opel Vectra model released from 1988 to 1992 succeeded the outdated Opel Ascona. The design of the new car reflected that time: narrow headlights, large bumper, smooth lines of the body, typical for Opel cars. The interior differed in simplicity and a practicality. A five-door hatchback and a sedan were available.
Model A restyling
In 1992 there was a restyling of Opel Vectra A. Bumpers, mouldings and mirror covers began to be painted in color of a body, the logo was placed on the radiator grille.
Model B
The second generation of Opel Vectra was released from 1995 to 1999. The exterior of the car practically did not change. The interior of the passenger compartment was developed in common colour range, and leather was used in decoration of the steering wheel. A five-door station wagon was added to a sedan and a five-door hatchback in the line of available bodies.
In Opel Vectra cars of the second generation the German concern applied several innovative decisions which got special popularity at car owners. For example, in Opel Vectra B a collapsible pedal box was used for the first time.
Model B restyling
In 1999 Opel Vectra B cars underwent modernization. In an exterior there were chrome elements and mouldings. New seats with safety head restraints were installed in the cars. Higher quality materials were used in the inner trimming.
Model C
The debut of the third generation took place in 2002. Opel Vectra C cars were developed with use of the latest technologies. They were distinguished by a spacious passenger compartment and a high level of comfort. In new models producers updated design completely, making the body more lightweight, having increased at the same time its rigidity, and enlarged the wheel base.
The exterior of new Opel Vectra was a combination of company style and fashionable New Edge style. In an interior, the emphasis was placed on simplicity, functionality and a practicality. The line of bodies is presented by sedans, station wagons and five-door hatchbacks.
Model C restyling
In 2005 there was a restyling of the third generation of Opel Vectra. Changes concerned the nose of the car and some elements of passenger compartment. The line of engines was replenished with new units. In 2008 production of Opel Vectra in Europe was stopped.
Opel Vectra in the markets of different countries
In Great Britain the car carried the name Vauxhall Cavalier and Vauxhall Vectra later, in Australia it is known as Holden Vectra. Chevrolet Vectra was produced for the Latin American market.
