Nissan Patrol 1951–2010Nissan Patrol 3-door SUVs of the first generation were being manufactured in 1951-1960. Car resembled Willys Jeep.
In August 1955, Nissan Patrol 4W60 was replaced by Nissan Patrol 4W61. Chrome inserts appeared on a body, a radiator grille was changed. Passenger seat became wider than a driver seat.
In October 1958, Nissan Patrol 4W65 was manufactured. Hood lid and fenders were redesigned. Also model got a chromium-plated radiator grille. 8-seat Nissan Patrol WG4W65 hardtop wagons was manufactured along with SUV Patrols. In 1959, Nissan Patrol 4W66 model debuted. Car got a new engine, but production was already closed in 1960.
The second generation – Nissan Patrol 60 – debuted in 1960. On Australian market two versions of 2-door SUV with a soft roof were available: Nissan Patrol 60 (2000 mm wheelbase) and Nissan Patrol G60 (2500 mm wheelbase). In other countries Nissan Patrol L60/GL60 left side steering wheel was sold.
Nissan Patrol KG60 and Nissan Patrol KGL60 with hardtop were presented in 1963. Nissan Patrol had a similarity with Toyota Land Cruiser in a front body part design.
The third generation production started in 1980. Updated model was named Nissan Patrol W160 and on Australian market – Nissan Patrol MQ. There were an air-conditioner and a hydraulic power steering wheel in an extended configuration.
Restyling of the third generation took place in 1983. As a result, a front body part was redesigned and a front suspension was upgraded.
Production of cars intended for European market (named Nissan Patrol 260) was established in Spain in 1986. Car differs by square headlights instead of round ones.

The fifth generation of Nissan Patrol (Y61) production continued in 1997-2010. 3/5-door SUVs, 2/4-door pickups were coming off the conveyor. Car got more modern design, created by smooth body lines, a arebuilt radiator grille with chrome details and new headlights.
Car was restyled in 2004. Taillights got bigger, a radiator grille was redesigned. New interior upholstery variants were available.
