Lexus ESProduction of Lexus ES executive class sedan has continued from 1989 to the present. Car assembly has been established in the Japanese city of Kyushu. The model has been awarded a number of prestigious awards. One of them was the «Best Overall Value Award» by the American market research firm Intellichoice. Lexus ES 1989-2006The official launch of Lexus ES V20 cars was held at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in 1989. Production of the first generation cars continued until 1991. The vehicle was built on the basis of Toyota Camry model and borrowed from it not only technical equipment, but also the exterior design. However, in comparison with Toyota Camry Lexus ES model received a larger grille, enlarged taillights and chrome moldings. In 1991-1997 the Lexus ES XV10 second generation was produced. Compared with its predecessor, the sedan greatly increased in size, becoming a 127 mm longer and 76 mm wider. External changes affected the form of the front lights. The body acquired the streamlined contours, which led to improved aerodynamics. The interior design was revised as well. The center console received a California walnut trim. Cars were equipped with an eight-speaker sound system. The basic configuration included keyless access to the car.
In 1996-2001 the third generation of Lexus ES XV20 model was released. The improved model acquired modified lights and a smaller grille. Drag coefficient was reduced from 0.32 to 0.29. The instrument panel acquired electroluminescent backlight.
From 2001 to 2006, Lexus ES XV30 fourth generation sedans went off the assembly line. The body received even more streamlined shape, resulting in aerodynamic coefficient dropped to 0.28. Moreover, the car received new head lights, a larger grille, chrome door handles.

Aerodynamics improved as well. Fifth-generation sedans were produced until 2009.
