Info on LAND ROVER DISCOVERY model - the right selection of spare parts
Land Rover DiscoveryLand Rover Discovery vehicles have been produced since 1989. Cars are assembled at the plants in Great Britain, Jordan and Malaysia. This model is regarded to be one of the most successful projects of the company.
Land Rover Discovery 1989–2009Land Rover Discovery of the first generation was produced from 1989 until 1998. The debut of the vehicle was held in Great Britain. Initially, a vehicle was available only as a three-door SUV; however in 1990 the manufacture of a five-door SUV was launched.
The car had rather a low beltline. On the fifth door there was a spare wheel. Moldings were placed along the whole body. A major part of interior details were made from blue materials. Hand rails mounted in front seats were placed for comfort.
In 1994 engineers pursued the restyling of the vehicle of the first generation. Front headlights became larger, and rear optics paired.
In 1998 the second generation of Land Rover Discovery made its debut. Constructors elaborated the exterior part. All panels were replaced by new ones, except for the rear door panel. The rear side of the body was extended, so the luggage compartment was increased. The shape of front headlights was changed, as well as the shape of rear turn indicators which were removed from a bumper to side parts of a body.
In 2004 engineers represented the third generation of Land Rover Discovery. The front part of modified cars body became massive and larger. Rear lights became modern. Protective plastic lining were placed along the body curb and over wheel arches.
High-quality fabric was used for interior trimming. The multifunctional steering wheel appeared. The steering column was regulated in different directions. The passenger compartment was decorated with chromed inserts.
For the third generation of Land Rover Discovery following options were available: roof-railings, cruise-control, leather and dark wood imitating interior trimming, etc.
Land Rover Discovery IV generationThis generation had been produced from 2009 until 2013. The premiere of the vehicle was held in Scotland.
Fourth generation vehicles got new front and rear bumpers. The shape of the radiator grille was changed as well. Headlights were divided into sections and equipped with diode lamps.
There was an additional air vent placed on the front side of the body. Stylish linings were mounted above wheel arches.
Constructors also altered the interior. An old console was replaced by a new one, more functional, with stylish wooden and leather inserts. Trimming of the passenger compartment was made in light colors, and top-quality leather was used as the main material.
A wide range of options was available for this generation of Land Rover Discovery vehicles: power steering, climate control, heating of seats, navigation system, etc.
Land Rover Discovery IV generation restylingLand Rover Discovery was slightly modified by designers in 2013.
The shape of headlights, radiator grille and bumper was changed on the front side of the vehicle. The interior remained almost unchanged, except for a few wooden decorative inserts.
Land Rover Discovery in the markets of different countriesLand Rover Discovery had a twin car — Honda Crossroad. The car was being produced from 1992 until 1998 as a three-door and a five-door SUV. In North America the third and the fourth generation had a name Land Rover LR3 and Land Rover LR4 as well.
