Ford KugaThe Ford Kuga crossover went on sale in 2008 and is released nowadays. Production of this model is organized in Germany, China, Russia, and also at the plant in Spain. In total two generations and one restyling of this car were released.
Ford Kuga І generationThe first generation of Ford Kuga was released from 2008 to 2013. For the first time the stock model was shown at the beginning of 2008 within the Geneva motor show. The crossover inherited the majority of design elements from the Ford Iosis-X concept car shown at the motor show in Paris in 2006: designers borrowed proportions, effective wheel arches and disks, sharp outlines of a body from Ford Iosis-X. In comparison with a concept the stock crossover had higher roof so the passenger compartment had five seats. In general, the design of the car was organized in New Edge style, at the same time the car looked quite respectable and aggressively.
Ford Kuga of the first generation was created on the Ford C1 platform, it had much in common with Ford Escape and was the successor of Ford Maverick in Europe. The high level of safety was a distinctive feature of these cars. The bumper was made of the weak material, and between the front panel, the radiator grille and a bumper the power absorbing zone was created. Headlights and front fenders were made of plastic that allowed to increase the level of the pedestrian protection as much as possible. Safety of the driver and passengers also was at a high level.
Ford Kuga ІІ generationThe debut of Ford Kuga cars ІІ took place at the motor show in Detroit in 2013. The new car was constructed on the basis of Ford Focus of the third generation. The car was increased in sizes, the compartment became more spacious and comfortable. The security system was completely updated that allowed Ford Kuga to pass EuroNCAP test in 2012 and got the highest index in the category "The Active Safety".
Special attention was paid to increase of level of comfort of passengers of a back row of seats in the passenger compartment. In finishing of the compartment qualitative materials and the weak plastic were used. For the convenience of the driver, the buttons of operating of many important knots were located on the wheel. Also the big list of options was offered to the buyers: seven airbags, bixenon headlights, parking assistant, electric adjustment of a driver's seat and so forth.
Production of models of this generation still continues.
Ford Kuga ІІ generation restylingIn 2015 there was a restyling of Ford Kuga ІІ. The nose of the car changed, the additional electronic instrumentation appeared. In the updated models SYNC3 system synchronized with the Smartphone was installed: it allows to start the engine distantly and control fuel consumption.
