Audi V8Release of this model of a representative class began in 1988. Because of outdated design of a body, the management of the German concern decided to replace Audi V8 by the modern Audi A8 in 1994. Audi V8 cars are produced in Neckarsulm, Germany, and also in Tokyo, Japan.
Audi V8 of the first generationThe first generation of the model was released from 1988 to 1992. Audi V8 was constructed on the advanced C3 platform and was the successor of the top Audi 200 car. The car was represented in two bodies: a sedan and a sedan on the extended wheelbase. It was the first sedan of a representative class equipped with a four-wheel constant drive together with an automatic four-speed transmission, and also V8 gasoline engines.
Cars were presented in three complete sets. The most expensive, Exclusive, included leather finishing of seats, inserts of the nut tree on the ergonomic dashboard, woolen rugs, lateral support of seats, electroresetting of rear seats. The basic set had the central lock, the electric drive of door mirrors, climate control, electro regulators of the windows and the firm audio system.

Audi V8 DTM was created for participation in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft sports competitions. In 1990 and 1991, thanks to talented racers and fine technical characteristics, the bright model won first place, having overtaken the main competitors — Mercedes-Benz 190 and BMW M3.
