Audi R8Audi R8 is the four-wheel drive supercar. For the first time it was presented in 2006 on the International motor show in Paris. Serial release of cars began in 2007. The model is produced nowadays in one place only — in Nekkarzulm, Germany.
Audi R8 of the first generationThe coupe was developed on the basis of a concept of Audi Le Mans Quattro which was created, in turn, especially for the movie "I, Robot" of 2004. After all of the improvements it received the code name RSQ. The concept car so was pleasant to the management of the company that the decision to start it in a mass production under the name of R8 was made.
In spite of the fact that the four-wheel drive isn't typical for cars of a sports class, the designers established it on Audi R8 cars. This innovation helped to ensure the maximum safety of the driver and passenger when braking. All the cars of this model had also the electronic monitoring system which transfers braking power to rear and front bridges concerning 85 on 15 respectively.
One of the main features of the exterior was the diode illumination on the perimeter of the car and the side panel which differed from primary colour of the body. Big air intakes and a diode fringing of the heel of head headlights were also effectively allocated. In a compartment the main emphasis was placed on carbonic and aluminum decorative inserts.
In 2009 at the motor show in Frankfurt, a cabriolet Audi R8 Spyder was presented. Unlike a coupe, the engine at the new car is in the rear end.
