Excellent gas strut, but far too powerful for my vehicle. Despite using the chassis number and carefully cross referencing the stated compatibility, these struts seem to be far too powerful. Without excessive control of the boot lid opening speed, the tailgate files up to the full extension of the gas strut, at which point its momentum is transferred into the plastic ball mounting causing it to shatter and detach, leaving the user to catch the falling tailgate - not good.
