Info on SSANGYONG KORANDO model - the right selection of spare parts
SsangYong KorandoSsangYong Korando vehicles have been produced since 1983 till nowadays. In the meantime there are three generations and one restyling of the model. In different years the car was assembled in South Korea, Vietnam, Russia, Sri Lanka, Poland, Iran, and Ukraine.
SsangYong Korando I generationThe manufacture of the model of the first generation had been started by the company Geohwa, which was renamed to the SsangYong Motor Company three years later. The production of SsangYong Korando vehicles of the first generation continued until 1966. The model was a licensed copy of the Jeep CJ-7 and was manufactured as a three-door SUV. SsangYong Korando vehicles began to be exported to the European market in 1988.
SsangYong Korando II generationThe model of the second generation was produced from 1996 until 2006. Three-door and two-door SUVs were available among the body versions.
Ken Greenley, a professor of the Royal College of Art in London, was involved into a process of the exterior creation.
The exterior of the SsangYong Korando second generation vehicles became modern due to a specifically tapered bonnet, large wheel arches and a massive body kit. Headlights of a round shape which turned to be a peculiar feature of the car style remained unchanged.
SsangYong Korando III generationThe concept of the model of the third generation was introduced under the name SsangYong C200 at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. The series production of vehicles was started in 2010. The third generation of the SsangYong Korando model was manufactured as a five-door crossover.
The exterior of the car was considerably changed. The body lines became smoother, and spectacular swaging elements added some dynamics to the exterior. Large headlight-clusters of an irregular shape and a massive chrome-plated radiator grille decked out the front part of the car. Depending on a modification the car was equipped with roof-racks.
A hydraulic power steering, central lock, heating of mirrors, rear windows and wipers zone, onboard computer, signalling and cruise-control systems were included into the list of basic options.
SsangYong Korando III generation restylingRestyled vehicles were presented in 2013. The front optics was elaborated; reverse lights got LED-inserts. Interior was changed: the dashboard had a new design; new interior trimming solutions were implemented.
A basic crossover modification includes a new sound system with a Bluetooth headset and iPod/iPhone connection. The high level of the vehicle safety is provided due to a roadholding system, four airbags, and active head restraints of the first seats row.
SsangYong Korando in the markets of different countriesFrom 1999 until 2001 the model of the second generation was being sold under the name Daewoo Korando. In the Russian market the second generation of SsangYong Korando vehicles is presented as Tagaz Tager, the third generation is being sold under the name SsangYong Actyon.
